Due to the rousing success of Verizon Wireless’ Motorola Droid Razr and Droid Razr Maxx, Motorola Mobility is set to unveil the successor for both phones—the Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx.

Announced in an event in New York, the Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx HD, boasts of improved specifications such as bigger and crisper display and longer battery life. The two handsets will be the first by Motorola under Google. The search engine company acquired Motorola last May.

The Motorola Razr HD will come with a thin profile and will have a Kevlar backing. The Maxx HD, on the other hand, will be thicker than its predecessor to make room for its larger battery pack.

To make it competitive with other handsets, both the Razr HD and Maxx HD will bring a bigger display—a 4.7-inch high definition screen, bigger than the 4.3-inch of its predecessors. It will come with a 1280 x 780 resolution display, an indication of its high definition quality.

It will come with an 8-megapixel camera and allows 1080 pixels of high definition video. For the Razr HD, the bigger battery offers 16 hours of talk time or 24 hours of “mixed use.” At 2,530mAh, it is relatively larger than the 1,780 mAh battery of its predecessor. On the other hand, the Maxx HD provides 21 hours of “talk time,” 27 hours of streaming music, 10 hours of video or 32 hours of “mixed use.”
