Announced in April 2011 and was finally released in May the same year, the HTC Sensation is a sleek and yet powerful device to own. As a Smartphone the Sensation is as its name puts it, a sensation. Running on Android, a powerful camera and a well capable processor the possibilities are endless. HTC were able to put together an envious mobile phone.

Display and Dimensions:
Weighing 148 grams surely we all must agree this is one is a scale-tipper. It measures 126.1mm in height 65.4mm in width and is 11.3mm in width. Despite the weight of the phone HTC were able to pull this off with a minimalist design and a unique range of features.

The Sensation features a 4.3 inches S-LCD capacitive touch screen supporting up to 16M colours. A dismal 540 by 960 pixels resolution with 256 pixels per inch density supports multi-touch with the user enjoying the classic HTC Sense 3.0 UI. The display also has Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

Memory, Storage and CPU:
Featuring a 1.2GHz dual-core processor on a Qualcomm chipset and an Adreno 220 GPU this HTC is quite powerful when it comes to performance, it might however not be able to multitask as well as you with a disappointing 768MB RAM.

The internal storage on this device is also quite disappointing with only 1GB of storage space, but this should not dampen your spirits as it supports a card slot expandable up to 32GB and on purchase comes with an 8GB microSD.

Network Access:
The Sensation like all other Smartphones released in 2011 can support both Wi-Fi and 3G. The Wi-Fi features the best of the IEEE standards that is 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi hotspot which is provided by the Android OS the device. The 3G network interface supports download speeds of up to 14.4Mbps and an upload speed of up to 5.76Mbps like most conventional Smartphones. The Sensation also features the v3.0 Bluetooth technology which comes in handy for data transfer and for use with the Bluetooth headsets.

First of all this is a HTC Smartphone and the powerful camera doesn’t come as a surprise as the Sensation adorns a powerful 8MP camera with dual-LED flash. It has a 3264 by 2448 pixels resolution and records in full HD (1080p@30fps) with stereo sound recording. It also features geo-tagging, touch focus, image stabilization and face detection. This HTC also has a VGA secondary camera.

Software, Multimedia and other features:
The HTC Sensation runs on Android Gingerbread upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich a user only needs find their to the Google Play Store for unlimited range of applications and utilities.
It features an really enticing multimedia section with the famous Beats Audio supporting all major multimedia playback formats that is 3GP, 3G2, MP4, WMV (Windows Media Video 9), AVI (MP4 ASP and MP3) and the following audio formats AAC, AMR, OGG, M4A, MID, MP3, WAV and WMA (Windows Media Audio 9). It records audio in AMR and video in MP4.

It also has other common Smartphone features like compass, accelerometer, gyro-sensor and GPS. However there is need to worry when it comes to the power consumption with a 1520mAh Lithium-ion rechargeable with a best talk time record of 500 minutes (8 hours) and a standby time of 285 hours.
